Learning Rhino 7

For the past few weeks we have been exploring a variety of different mediums and softwares, specifically Auto CAD programs. I have been an Autodesk gal for years now, I love their products and have been a loyal customer for over six years now. Even as my time as an Architectural Designer I became Revit certified. Anyhow I digress. Over these past few weeks I have been seeing my classmates use Rhino 7 and naturally, I wanted to give it try.

First off, I had the most difficult time getting it to download and I don’t understand why since I am working on a brand new laptop. After about a day of struggling I finally got it to download. At first the interface was a lot and a bit overwhelming. Im not sure if it was me or my laptop but I continued to have issues with speed, rendering and overall glitches.

For this project, I wanted to make something spooky for the last week of October. I found this really cool object on STL Finder. Its a devil skull with three eye sockets. Below is the rendering I made in Rhino.

The next step for this assignment was to create contour lines so we can actually print, cut and built this object using a CNC machine.

Above are all of the contour pieces ready to be cut out. Moving forward I would love to send this over and get it cut out and assembled.
